Lobo - Wallpaper

I had to do this.
I just had to.

Do to Lobo’s unfortunately passing away do to the nu52.

See DC thinks it’s all right to change EVERYTHING about a character to the point where they are unrecognizable. Now me personally I think if you are going to make changes to that degree than you need simply create a new character.

Why?

Well because the changes are made to draw new audiences.
I get that.

But by changing to get the new audience you isolate the old audience the people who helped make that character recognizable. Personally I take this as an insult because for years Lobo was one of my favorite comic book characters of all time.

Much how in the same way people are infatuated with Batman and Superman I have a love for the Main Man. I collect his comics, his toys, his statues, fanart I collect it all.
Everyone has an obsession.

A character they love, or a franchise, a sports team, it can be anything.
I am not against change.
I welcome it if it betters the initial.


But when you do THIS and say it’s the same character I grew up loving in the 90s you are slapping me in the face and insulting me.

Superman looks the same.
Batman looks the same.
Wonder Woman looks the same.

Fraggin Phantom Stranger looks the same.

Yet, Lobo a character who yes is not as big as the trinity but is CERTAINLY bigger than the Phantom Stranger is completely broken down, thrown out and looks like a train wreck. Why change everything that made the character and ICON and still call it the same character.

DC did the same thing with the Creeper.
They don't even looks like the same character so why keep the name?

It’s for new fans well okay but the old fans (not all but the ones I know personally) hate the changes.
They hate that characters they enjoyed have been thrown away for a fresh audience.

It's unfair to us.
What our money is no good anymore?
Our fandom doesn't matter because we are the old model?
We are now obsolete.

So I just wanted to make something for Lobo.
He is one of my favorite comic book characters of all time.

So to commemorate the parting of the MAIN MAN I made this.
It’s funny despite the over the top chibi cuteness to this wallpaper I still believe I stayed more true to this character than the company that owns the rights.

That sounds arrogant I admit but even with the curtness he is still recognizable.
